Short answer: a motorized retractable golf simulator screen costs about $1,700 to $5,900 on its own, depending on brand, width and whether the side screens are included. A complete retractable simulator room, with launch monitor, projector and mat, usually lands somewhere between about $5,000 and $10,000, and more if you choose a premium launch monitor.
This page breaks that number down so you can build your own budget. Prices are dated so you know how fresh they are. We make one of the systems below, so read our numbers as a manufacturer's, and check every competitor price on the maker's own site before you buy.

What other retractable systems cost
These are list prices from each maker's own site, read October 3, 2026. They change, so confirm before you compare.
| System | Price | Side protection |
|---|---|---|
| HomeCourse ProScreen 180 | $2,299 | 3 ft fold-out arms and a top net included |
| Par2Pro Stealth | $1,695 to $2,395 | Screen only; side walls $549 each manual, $1,598 to $1,698 for a powered pair |
| G-TRAK | $1,999.99 to $2,999.99 | Screen only; mounts on garage door tracks |
| SportScreen Vanish LITE | $2,299.99 to $3,299.99 hand crank; $2,549.99 to $3,549.99 remote control | 3 ft side curtains and ceiling panel included |
| SportScreen Vanish | $2,999.99 to $4,999.99 hand crank; $3,999.99 to $5,899.99 remote control | 5 ft side screens and ceiling panel included |
| Another vendor's retractable system | ~$2,699 to $5,581, configured | Optional |
| The Home Fairway | $2,399 to $3,449 | Two motorized side screens up to 8 ft deep included |
The comparison that matters is the price of the same bay. A screen-only price looks lower until you add side protection: Par2Pro's optional side walls, for example, add $1,098 for a manual pair and up to $1,698 for a powered pair. And compare motor to motor: SportScreen's base prices are for a hand crank. Our retractable screen comparison goes system by system.
The rest of the room
The screen is one line in the budget. These are typical retail ranges in October 2026.
| Item | Typical range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Launch monitor | About $500 to $15,000+ | Entry radar units start around $500. Popular home models run about $1,200 to $3,000. Many charge a yearly software subscription on top. |
| Projector | About $1,000 to $4,000 | A short-throw model is the usual choice for a home bay. |
| Hitting mat and turf | About $500 to $3,000 | Worth spending on: a good mat protects your joints and your clubs. |
| Computer and simulator software | Varies | Some launch monitors include software; others need a PC and a separate license. |
| Ceiling padding | $999 to $1,999 for our sets | Matched to each Fairway size. Most useful in a garage or under a ceiling around 10 ft or lower. |
| Mounting and power | Varies by room | We do not install. Most of our customers have an electrician hang it, and a handyman service can do it too. Fasteners depend on your framing and are not included. |
On power: each of our three motorized screens has its own 120V plug-in power lead. They do not need three separate outlets or a dedicated circuit, and we recommend plugging them into a surge protector.
Two example budgets
These are examples built from the ranges above, not quotes. Your numbers will move with the launch monitor you choose.
A practical garage bay, about $5,000. Fairway 10 ($2,649), an entry launch monitor (about $600), a short-throw projector (about $1,000) and a mid-range mat (about $600). Add fasteners and an afternoon of installer time.
A full family room, about $9,000 to $10,000. Fairway 12 ($2,899), a mid-range launch monitor ($2,000 to $3,000), a 4K short-throw projector (about $1,500), a premium mat (about $1,000) and the Fairway 12 ceiling padding set ($1,499).
Costs people miss
- Side screens. If they are an add-on, price them in before you compare. Ours are included.
- Freight. Screens ship as oversized freight. Ours ships free to the lower 48; check whether a quote includes it.
- Software subscriptions. Many launch monitors need one for course play.
- Returns. Our returns carry a 15 percent restocking fee and you pay the return freight, so measure first. The free sizing review is the cheapest insurance there is.
- Room prep. In a garage, the door track usually decides the layout. See the garage door tracks guide.
Is retractable worth the extra over a fixed enclosure?
A fixed enclosure usually costs less at the entry level, and if the room is only ever a golf room, that is the sensible buy. Retractable earns its price when the room has another job: a garage you park in, a basement the family uses, a bonus room that is also a playroom. The full trade-off is in retractable vs fixed screens.
