The run from the simulator PC to a ceiling-mounted projector is almost always longer than a copper HDMI cable can carry a clean 4K signal. A hybrid active optical cable sends the video over fiber, so there is no flicker, dropout or handshake trouble at 30, 50, 65 or 100 feet.
StarTech HDMI 2.1 Hybrid Active Optical Cable: Certified Ultra High Speed HDMI, 48 Gbps, 8K 60 Hz and 4K 120 Hz. Plenum rated (CMP) for in-ceiling and in-wall runs. Thin, flexible fiber construction pulls through conduit easily. Directional: the end marked Source goes to the PC, Display goes to the projector. No external power needed.
Which length: measure from the PC location up the wall, across the ceiling to the projector mount, and add 6 to 10 feet of slack. For a typical 12 ft bay with the PC at the side wall, 50 ft covers it.
